The Road Back

It's back to training now after one week's break.

Today, 18th June 2008 I went back to continue my boxing training. The ring has temporarily been removed for modification works to be done. On the other hand it also means more moving space for the trainees.

The experienced boxers and beginners were separated during training thus we are able to get more focused training to help us improve our skills, speed and power.

With the still injured nose which i sustained during my latest stint a open match that bled for several many minutes I was again hit on the same spot during a light exchange exercise. It gave me a mixed feelings of helplessness and frustration. But after that I cleared up and went back to train, with the bags coz they wont really hit u back no matter how hard you kick or punch them! =D It turned out to be fruitful. My jabs and crosses improved in speed and power trumendously.

The hit i got which led me to bleeding again turned out handy. I begun working on my defense. Somehow i drew inspiration from some of my fellow boxers whist they were doing some light sparring practices. That was just before I punched the bags and got the outcome which turned out good. With the defensive movements I added in, it created room for my punches to be delivered much more smoothly and with more confidence as I would be much better guarded too.

One more thing, just yesterday night before i sleep, I discovered my correct punching posture, hands slightly close to the body for tight defense and slightly elevated too. From that position, deliver the 1,2. My arms stretched all the way out with good speed and power. With repetition, the power is there to stay. It's like a present for me, coming in small packages one at a time for me perserverence and determination to claim what would rightfully and eventually be mine, The Champion's Throne.

In all, it was all good and progressive. The pain has always something good in exchange for me to take with me so it served as a source of encouragement to bring me to the next level. God bless and Pens off.

*The new boxing shoes I received as a bdae gift played a great part in my improved balance too ;)

Father's Day

Cool.

Went out and had a good time with hj. went to the IT show to get the ink catridge for my printer. it was $52.00, one black and one colour catridge. Saved some money there. When it is not under promotion, it would have cost me $70+ dollars!! So i saved quite a bit =]

That was that. We later went to mac and ate a little before I met up with my family who were already gathered at Central (at clarke quay) which is super near my work place, just waiting for me =].

My siblings were in charge of the present and me? I am giving my father and whoever attended a dinner treat! And so we went to Tom TOn Japanese Restaurant. It's a place that specialise on Black Pigs. And I mean very expensive pigs my godness.

We ordered the food and begun digging in. After the satisfactory meal, came the bill. Even my brothers and sisters break cold sweat for me. $297.55. My sister took a picture of it to commorate this day and I took out my debit card to put my signature on it. Ouch.

Nevertheless I was happy that they were all happy =] especially my father. On top of the meal, he got a Soviet Titus watch which he really likes.

Pens off.

My 2nd Boxing Competition

I had my second boxing competition on the 8th June 2008 and I came in 2nd too -_- Hopefully I dun come in 3rd on my 3rd competition -_- . It was held at Sembawang Community Centre in the early Sunday morning.

That day although I lost, I stood up all the way till the end. In the last round, I was hit on my nose, blood flew out and the ref stopped the fight. It was over. My opponent leaped away in joy and jubilation, celebrating his sweet victory.

At that point in time, although a little disappointed that I lost the match after all the painstaking training, I was proud of myself to have stood up throughout the match, in the ring. I was a brave warrior. I stood firm till the battle is over. Anyway I was focusing on the blood that was flowing from my nose ceaselessly to my shirt, my shorts, on my shoes then to the canvas.

I finally got hit and bled I thought. As I thought back, I remembered the number of times I broke other's nose and see them bled. That day, it was my turn haha. I was a little amused by it and wasnt really affacted by the fact that I am bleeding as the many who bled coz of me continued fighting, training even harder after that. They have given me the courage to take it like a man.

I want to be the champ. I will become the champion. I'll be back =]
